The beginnings

Gábor Mészáros, founder and owner of chocoMe chocolate manufactory, got into the chocolate business by chance. He originally studied economics and worked in the food industry as a trade marketing manager, but after the 2008 global crisis, he decided to build his own business. His love of gastronomy made the choice pretty easy, and Gábor – after discovering the shortcomings of the premium chocolate market in Hungary – stepped into action!

After his first studies in Belgium, together with an interior designer friendi, he created the molds and the packaging, which has since won several international design awards. This is how the now very well-known, black-framed boxes with a transparent front came to life, in which the chocolate bars can shine in their greatest splendor!



Already in the first year, Gábor became a real chocolate fanatic, and in the decade that has passed since the foundation, his enthusiasm has not diminished one iota. Every year, he brings home the latest knowledge and technologies from foreign master courses, learning directly from the most famous chocolatiers. He obsessively researches new flavors and the most exciting ingredients, and personally visits cocoa plantations, farms and factories in different parts of the world.

"In order to learn as much as possible about the origins of cocoa beans and their effects on our senses, and to learn how to grow the best quality cocoa beans, I have visited several cocoa plantations and farmers in the Caribbean over the last 10 years, to gain knowledge from those who have the most experience in this field."


Cocoa beans occupy a special place in our hearts: in addition to their quality, respect for farmers and ethics are also the cornerstones of our principles. And where are we now?

Today well-known Italian and French experts simply call Gábor the "dragée magician". In our factory we produce 100 tons of sweets every year, which are distributed by nearly 1,000 partner stores around the world. With our 7 product families, we have so far won a total of 106 international awards, gold, silver and bronze medals in the world's most prestigious and strict competitions, the International Chocolate Awards and the Great Taste Awards. In addition to our famously spectacular bar chocolates, our filled chocolates and dragées have a very dedicated fan base, but our chocolate-dipped fruits and our own jams have also seduced a lot of sweet tooths!
